Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump Structure

Rotary vane vacuum pump is an oil-sealed mechanical vacuum pump, which is one of the most basic vacuum obtaining equipment in vacuum technology.

The rotary vane vacuum pump can pump out dry gas in the sealed container, and if it is equipped with a gas ballast valve, it can also pump out a certain amount of condensable gas. But it is not suitable for pumping gas with high oxygen, corrosive to metal, chemical reaction to pump oil, and particulate dust.

There are single stage rotary vane vacuum pumps and two stage vacuum pumps.


Rotary vane vacuum pump is a positive displacement pump, which uses the rotary vane to continuously operate in the pump cavity to suck and compress the gas, and finally discharge it from the exhaust port.

The pump is mainly composed of stator, rotor, rotary vane, etc.

The rotor is eccentrically inserted into the stator cavity. There are two vanes in the rotor slot, and the vane spring is placed between the two vanes. The intake and exhaust ports on the stator are separated into two parts by the rotor and the vane.

When the rotor rotates in the stator cavity, under the combined action of the spring tension and its own centrifugal force, the end of the rotor slides against the inner wall of the pump cavity, periodically expanding the inner volume of the cavity on the inlet side and sucking in gas at the same time. Gradually reduce the volume of the exhaust port, compress the inhaled gas, and then discharge it from the exhaust port to achieve the purpose of pumping.
