XD series vacuum pump is single-stage rotary vane oil-sealed vacuum pump. It can be used separately or as fore-pump for vacuum pump, mechanical booster pump, and turbo molecular pump.

XD series vacuum pumps adopts foreign advanced technology,its wearing parts are imported from abroad. It can absolutely replace the similar foreign pump.

Note: Pumping amount of water stream refers to max. pumping amount when the vacuum pump equipping with the gas ballast valve is opened. 

 

Application

XD series vacuum pumps are suitable for low and medium vacuum fields, which are mainly used for pumping air and other dry gases rather than corrosive, toxic, flammable and explosive gases. Furthermore, they cannot pump the gases containing tiny particles or dust and cannot transport other small objects.

XD series vacuum pumps can work for long term in the well-ventilated room with ambient temperature of 5-30 ℃ and with humidity ≤80%.

In addition to the above applications, the XD series vacuum pumps can be available other applications, such as:

  1. To increase the amount of the pumping gas and to improve the vacuum degree, please combine with Roots pumps to form a unit for this.

  2. If pumping moist air or condensable gas, the condenser can be installed before the vacuum pump and the gas ballast valve is installed on the vacuum pump.

  3. If pumping the gases containing dust particles, the dust filters can be installed in front of the vacuum pump.

  4. If pumping the corrosive gases, the corrosion-proof gas filter can be installed in front of the vacuum pump.

Installation and Start

Note:Be sure to comply with the necessary installation conditions of the vacuum pump. Especially the vacuum pump shall be cooled fully, otherwise there may cause damage to the vacuum pump and its adjacent equipments.

 

1. Installation environment

  • Please make sure that the vacuum pump is installed in the non-explosive area.

  • Make sure that the vacuum pump complies with the following installation conditions:

Ambient temperature: 5 ~ 30 ℃

Environmental pressure: Atmospheric pressure.

  • Please place the vacuum pump horizontally.

  • Make sure the vacuum pump in the well-ventilated environment; keep the distance between the vacuum pump and its adjacent object at least 20cm for fully cooling of the vacuum pump.

  • Make sure that the surface of the vacuum pump not contact with the combustibles (such as plastics, wood, paper, cardboard, and electronic products).

  • Do not touch the running vacuum pump.

  • Please ensure the vacuum pump is installed to easily see the oil window (O).

  • Make sure there is a enough space for easily oiling and draining oil, and for replacement of exhaust filter.

 

2. Connection of Air intake

If the pumping gas contains dust or other solid particles, please ensure that the filter is installed at the air flow direction of the vacuum pump.

  • Please ensure the tightness of the Air intake pipe of vacuum pump; ensure no any pressure is generated from the connection between the connecting pipes and vacuum pump. Add bellows if necessary.

  • Ensure that the rated diameter of the Air intake pipe is not less than that of the Air intake.

  • Ensure that no foreign particles (such as welding slag) enter into the Air intake pipe.

  • If the vacuum pump system volume is large enough to suck back oil from the vacuum pump or several vacuum pumps share the same pipe, the manual or automatic check valves shall be installed on the air suction pipe.

  • If the vacuum pump is used to pump the condensable (such as vapor) gas, the cut-off valves, liquid drain branch pipes and water drain valves shall be installed on the air suction pipe, to exclude condensates from the pipe.

 

3. Connection of exhaust port

  • Ensure the exhaust pipe is suitable for vacuum pump for gas exhaust.

  • Exhaust pipe shall tilt to leave the vacuum pump, or the gas-liquid separator or water drain valve branch pipe is used to prevent liquid back flow into the vacuum pump.

Attention! The exhaust pipe made of the insulation material may generate static electricity, which can cause oil mist explosion. Exhaust pipe must be made of conductive materials or measures shall be taken to prevent static electricity.

 

4. Electrical

  • Please make ensure that the power voltage and frequency are consistent with nameplate of motor.

  • Install the motor filter according to the EN60204-1 standard.

  • The movable vacuum pump shall be installed with the movable cables.

 

5. Installation

  • Be sure to comply with the “Necessary installation conditions”

  • Place or install the vacuum pump at the appropriate position.

  • Electrical connection must be done by the professional personnel; motor must be connected properly and the grounding wires must be connected correctly.

Attention! Incorrect rotation direction of motor may cause damage to the vacuum pump in a short time.

  • Before starting the vacuum pump, ensure the correct rotation direction of the vacuum pump.

  • Jog the motor to determine the rotation direction of rotor according to the arrow.

 

6. Add oil

Attention! 

The newly delivered vacuum pump is not filled with oil.

Operation of vacuum without oil may cause damage to the vacuum pump within short time.

Before starting the vacuum pump, ensure it has been filled with oil.

Attention! Filling oil into the Air intake may cause vane broken or cause damage to the vacuum pump. Therefore, fill the oil into the vacuum pump only through the oil filling port (N).

Attention! When the vacuum pump is working, as oil separator is filled with the high-temperature and high-pressure oil mist, if oil filling port is opened, there may be scald risk by hot oil.

Attention! The oil filler plug must be tightened when the vacuum pump is running. Therefore, only when the vacuum pump stops, this plug can be removed.

Please ensure that the oil filter plug seals must be intact, and shall be replaced if necessary.

Please ensure the oil level is between “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the oil window.

Attention! 

If the Air intake is not closed or blocked by rubber pad, it is difficult to start the vacuum pump.

 

Maintenance and Service

Attention! Maintenance interval of the vacuum pump shall be determined according to the working environment.

 

1. Daily maintenance items: Check the oil level and oil color

Attention! Oil in the vacuum pump shall be bright and clear. If oil becomes muddy after settlement of sediments, or contains disappear matters or oil becomes black, the oil must be replaced.  

Attention! Oil service lift depends on the working environment. Oil replacement interval is generally 500-2000 working hours under the completely-pumping, dry air and 100 ℃ environment.

 

2.Weekly maintenance items: Check the vacuum pump for leakage. If found, please repair vacuum pump

 

3. Monthly maintenance items: Check the resistance of the exhaust filter, which shall be measured by changes on motor current, to determine whether the exhaust filter shall be replaced.

Check the Air intake filter; if necessary, please clean (with compressed air) or replace the Air intake filter.

 

4. Six-month maintenance items

  • Ensure that the vacuum pump chamber is free of dust or dirty. If necessary, please wash the inner chamber of the vacuum pump.

  • Please clean vanes, vane cover, and disc finned oil hoses (with compressed air).

 

5.Yearly maintenance items: Please replace Air intake filer. Please replace the exhaust filter.

 

6.Please wash the vacuum pump; attention: Black or degenerated oil may block oil hose and cooling pipes.

Note: Black or degenerated oil may cause lack of lubrication of the vacuum pump, resulting in vacuum pump temperature too high, thus causing damage to vacuum pump.

  • 50% vacuum pump oil and 50% paraffin oil or diesel oil are mixed as cleaning agent with amount of 2L; add the cleaning agent when the old oil has been drained completely from the vacuum pump, and then close the Air intake to run the vacuum pump at least 30 minutes, and then drain the cleaning agent completely.

Note: If the paraffin oil or diesel oil is used as cleaning agent, there may be foreign taste after startup of pump, which will disappear gradually after running for some time.
