Roots Vacuum Pump for Decompression Tower System

Roots vacuum pump is a very effective vacuuming equipment, its ultimate vacuum degree can reach -98kpa, and realize the decompression and deep drawing of the oil refining unit.

The processing capacity of the atmospheric and vacuum unit represents the scale and processing capacity of the petroleum refining enterprise.

An effective vacuum system can enable the atmospheric unit to obtain a large output of side distillate oil.

This article mainly introduces the advantages of roots vacuum pump for decompression tower system, and roots vacuum pump characteristics.

Roots Vacuum Pump Performance Characteristics

  1. Roots vacuum pump has low noise, and the fan inlet and exhaust ports adopt a spiral shape, so that the air intake and exhaust process are cut in sequence according to the direction of the spiral line, which avoids the pulsating noise and vibration when the air is exhausted.

  2. Small vibration.

Although the rotor has been precisely machined and balanced, it is still balanced with high-precision dynamic balancing equipment.

  1. Stable performance.

Roots vacuum pump rotors, pump casings, shafts and other key parts are all equipped with advanced control and processing equipment to improve the interchangeability of parts.

  1. Quick start, low power consumption, low operation and maintenance cost, high pumping speed, high efficiency, and insensitive to a small amount of water vapor and dust contained in the pumped gas.

  2. High adiabatic efficiency and volumetric efficiency, thus saving energy.

  3. The use of high-precision, high-hardness synchronous gears not only prolongs the life of the roots vacuum pump, but also effectively reduces noise.

Roots vacuum pump is a kind of rotor type variable volume vacuum pump. It can only be used with the cooperation of the backing pump. It has a large pumping speed in a wide pressure range, and is not sensitive to dust and water vapor contained in the pumped gas. It’s widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, food, electronics, coating and other industries.

When using a roots vacuum pump, it is not only necessary to select the correct type, but also to control the ambient temperature.

The ambient temperature of the roots vacuum pump should be less than 40°C, and the temperature rise of the motor should not exceed 75°C.

In order to prevent the ambient temperature from affecting the performance of the roots vacuum pump, the following tasks must be done:

  1. Adhere to the cleanliness of the roots vacuum pump. No other objects should be placed on the roots vacuum pump, and the passages around the vacuum pump should not be blocked, so as to facilitate the heat dissipation and cooling of the pump casing, and it is also conducive to repair and operation.

  2. Always pay attention to the tightness of the V-belt of the roots vacuum pump. If it is too tight or too loose, it must be adjusted. If the belt is too tight, it will cause the pump casing temperature to be too high.

  3. Do not let air leak at the joints of the pipes. The pre-vacuum in the box should be kept within an appropriate range. Once a defect occurs, it can cause the ambient temperature of the roots vacuum pump to change. It is very important to repair it in time.

Through the operation of the roots vacuum pump, it is found that compared with the traditional steam evacuator, although the initial investment cost is higher, but because of its simple structure, it is easy to maintain and repair and energy saving. In fact, the application economy of roots vacuum pump in decompression tower system is better than that of steam evacuator. Moreover, the structure of the roots vacuum pump is more in line with the decompression tower system.
