Rotary vane vacuum pump oil leakage is a relatively common fault. First of all, it is necessary to make sure whether it is a real leakage, and then find out the leakage point according to the structural characteristics of the pump.
Common reasons for oil leakage are:
Oil leakage to pump casing during refueling.
Oil mist deposition at the exhaust port.
Over pressure in the pump tank
Real oil leakage

Oil leakage to pump casing during refueling.
During the process of refueling or replacing spare parts, it is possible that the oil flow to the pump casing and cause false leakage.
Troubleshooting: Check the middle of the bracket, the outside of the bracket, the connection between the fuel tank and the bracket, wipe it clean and run it to eliminate false leaks.

Oil mist deposition at the exhaust port
Some two-stage rotary vane vacuum pumps have no built-in oil mist filter. If there is no external filter, it is easy to discharge the oil mist to the pump port under load. If the single-stage rotary vane vacuum pump is easy to discharge the oil mist to pump port when filter is broken and didn’t get replaced in time. Long-term oil mist deposition will cause oil in the exhaust port, causing the illusion of oil leakage.
Troubleshooting: If the exhaust pipeline or oil mist filter is not installed, check whether there is oil in the exhaust port, and wipe the oily part before running it. It is recommended to install the exhaust pipeline or oil mist filter and ensure the smoothness of the exhaust pipeline of the pump, and regularly check or replace the filter to prevent clogging.

Overpressure in the pump tank
The oil tank of the pump has over pressure, and the over pressure of the pump will cause damage to the shaft seal and oil leakage.
Troubleshooting: If there are multiple pumps in system sharing one exhaust pipeline, please install a one-way valve at the exhaust pipe of each pump, and install an exhaust fan at the outlet of the general exhaust pipe. Make sure that the outlet pressure of the pump is less than 1.2bar.
After eliminating the false leakage, it is necessary to check the possible leakage points of the pump. The locations where oil leakage is more likely to occur are generally: the shaft seal on the motor side, the oil tank gasket, the oil drain port, the oil pipe interface, and the gas ballast valve interface, at the sealing ring of the end cover of the single-stage vacuum pump.
Troubleshooting: Find the real leak and check the cause.
